Ciao tutti! Today I have spent some time reflecting on these last few months since buying a home in Italy and starting a whole new chapter in my life. At 50.

It can be scary at times. Starting over. Moving to a new country where you don’t know the language. Creating a new community of friends and neighbors. But one thing I can tell you is that on the other side of the huge risk I have taken, has come much reward.

I wanted to share with you 10 things that have personally enriched my life and ways I have grown in this process. I’m even dreaming of what is ahead. It is my hope that it inspires you to go after whatever it is that is calling you. For me it was Italy, and I am so thankful I answered that call.

  1. Adapting to a New Culture & Embracing Differences:

    Learning and adapting to Italian culture have been the greatest gifts these past few months. Seeing first-hand how they value family and life has made me pause and reflect on my own life and where and how I spend my time. I am still working on learning the language so I can hang out with my new neighbors and be able to communicate without google translate, but I am making progress.
