Bonus Finds Highlight: Emilia-Romagna, Italy
🔐 What Makes Emilia-Romagna a Smart, Soul-Filling Place to Live and Buy 🇮🇹
Buongiorno! 👋 Happy Tuesday!
Over the past two weeks, I have explored various regions within Italy and in keeping with that theme, I want to take you back up north again — to a region that doesn’t shout for attention, but absolutely earns it once you slow down and really look. It’s a place many people pass through quickly (often for food reasons 😉), but few stop to consider as a place to actually live.
Let’s talk about Emilia-Romagna. 🇮🇹
This is the land of medieval porticoes (a structure consisting of a roof supported by columns at regular intervals, typically attached as a porch to a building), fertile countryside, food traditions that have shaped Italian cuisine around the world, and cities that feel lived-in rather than curated for tourists. It’s where Ferraris are born, Parmesan is aged, balsamic vinegar is guarded like a family heirloom, and Sunday lunch still matters. It’s basically a foodie’s dream location!
It’s a region that blends culture, work, and everyday Italian life in a way that feels deeply authentic — and for some reason, it still flies under the radar compared to Tuscany, Lombardy, or the Amalfi Coast. And honestly? That’s part of the magic.
